Our Hiring Process

Be aware of hiring scams! If you have any questions about whether a communication is legitimate, please contact us at hr@sonoco.com.

Step 1: Browse Jobs

Browse available roles or join our Sonoco Talent Community to put your resume on file for future consideration. Once you find a job you’re interested in, click "Apply Now” to go through a simple application process. Make sure to have your resume updated and ready to upload.

Step 2: Pre-Interview

Selected applicants will receive a message from our Talent Acquisition team where you will be invited to share more about your experience. This call may take place over the phone or by video. Following the call, the talent acquisitions team member will make a recommendation on how to proceed with the next steps.

Step 3: Interview

You’ve made a great first impression, and we want to learn more about you and the skills you may bring to the organization. We’ll meet via video, phone or in person for interviews—the exact structure will depend on the role that you are applying for and the hiring manager for your team.

Step 4: Hiring Decision

Talent acquisition, the interviewers and the hiring manager will evaluate your entire interview experience, and we will let you know our decision as soon as possible. If you receive an offer, you will be required to complete pre-hiring screenings, which may include drug testing and background check before you start.

Why Sonoco?

Making a job change was a huge decision for me as it is for most. In 2021, I was looking for a company that understood that an employee is more than just a job function. I wanted to work for a company that truly valued and empowered its employees and wanted it to be a long-term and meaningful relationship on both sides. In my role at Sonoco, I feel challenged and have management that supports me to be the best I can. I have a close-knit work family that shares in each other’s triumphs, and we are there for each other when we need to be encouraged. It is great to work for a company that invests in me, my goals, my knowledge and my future.
